"Have a Little Faith"

Hi, everyone! I am back. I have had a crazy work week and had to bring a lot of work home w/ me so I haven't had a chance to blog til now. i have read "Have a Little Faith" by Mitch Ablom and am getting ready to read it again. Daphne and I are in a women's book club. I am June's moderator and this is the book I chose. I loved it. If you have read it, would you please share your insights, pos and neg, with me? It will help me to prepare for my sharing at book club. If you have any questions that you thought of while reading the book, share those, too. I'd love to pose them to our book group and see how they answer. I'll return and share back with you. Our book night is June 1st. I may not get back to blogging til this coming weekend. Work is promising to be crazyily busy again this week and I have the definite feeling I'll be bringing home a lot of nursing notes to complete. Nursing is great! It's the paperwork and documentation that'll kill you (and take lots of time to complete). Hope you all find time to read and blog this week in your busy schedules. Have a great and safe Memorial Day! vicky

  3. i am here. Sa Toya, nice to hear from you. i checked out your blog and it is really neat. i have to learn how to do creative pictures and designs, etc. to make our blog more exciting looking. Daphne is the expert on that so i'll need to have her show me the ropes. i would like to think i am not that old, but i guess when it comes to fancy stuff w/ the computer, i am not as well versed as you young folks.

  4. our women's book club is tomorrow and i haven't re-read "Have a Little Faith" yet. I wanted to say "hi" to everyone on the blog before i started reading. i'll post after the women's group that i am moderating so that you all can see what others thought of "Have a Little Faith." i hope everyone had a safe and happy Memorial Day. i love this country and i am so thankful for all of those people who sacrificed to keep us free. we are very blessed to live in this great country. this morning when i went out to go to work, i noticed small American flags placed in the ground along the street. it was so beautiful to see. one of the candidates for congress had them placed around town. i think it was a great idea. tomorrow in Calif there is a big election for governor, congress, mayor, etc. i hope everyone in Calif gets out to vote tomorrow. Daphne and i vote by absentee ballot so we already sent ours in. Have a great week! Summer is here.

  5. we had a great discussion at our book club about this little book. "Have a Little Faith" was really a heartwarming book. everyone had a lot to say. if you haven't read it, the book is a true story about 2 very opposite religious leaders. One is the author's rabbi who asks Mitch Ablom to write his eulogy. The other is a reformed drug dealer who becomes a pastor and helps the homeless. talk about 2 different individuals and 2 different ministries. yet, in the end they really had a lot in common, saving souls being the biggest. it was quite a miracle that the one pastor turned his life around completely. it also was about the author getting over his preconceived notions of what a religious leader should be. this book was a favorite of many of the ladies there. i'd recommend it. the book has a few great messages and is an easy read. if anyone reads it, please let me know what you think.
